Andvarinaut: Andvari’s Gift

  Andvarinaut was a cursed magic ring that every ninth day, eight new rings would drop out of Andvarinaut. The eight new rings were of equal quality as Andvarinaut. There was also a ring called Draupnir, that had the same abilities, but it was not cursed.

 

Bodn:

  Bodn was a jar, and one of the three containers in which the blood of Kvasir was kept. The two other was called Odrorir and Son.

 

Brisingamen: Flaming Glowing

  Brisingamen was a beautiful golden necklace, given to the goddess Freya. Brisingamen was made by the four dwarfs Alfrigg, Berling, Dvalin, and Grerr.

 

Cauldron:

  The giant Hymer had a large cauldron that the gods needed for brewing mead.

 

Dainsleif:

  Dainsleif was a sword made by the dwarf Dain. The sword was cursed, once drawn it must kill a man before it could be returned to the sheath. A strike from this cursed sword, never failed to kill or cause a serious wound that never healed.

 

Draupnir: The Dripper

  Draupnir was a golden ring forged by the dwarfs Brokk and Eitri. Every ninth day eight new rings would drop out of Draupnir. The eight new rings were of equal quality as Draupnir.

 

Dromi:

  Dromi was the second of the three chains which was used by the gods to bind the Fenrir wolf.

 

Eldhrimnir: Soot Blackened

  Eldhrimnir was a cauldron in which the boar Saehrimnir, was cooked every night for the gods and heroes in Valhalla.

 

Gjallar: Ringing Horn

  Gjallar was the horn that the god Heimdall, the guard of Bifrost owned. When he blew it, the horn could be heard in all the nine worlds. This was the horn that Heimdall, would blow at Ragnarok, “The end of the world”.

 

Gioll:

  Gioll was the rock, which the leash of the Fenrir wolf was attached to.

 

Gleipnir:

Gleipnir was the leash that the dwarfs made to bind the Fenris wolf.

The leash was as light as a silk ribbon, but stronger than an iron chain. The leash was made of six ingredients:

The sound of a cat’s walk
The beard of a woman
The roots of a mountain
The sinews of a bear
The breath of a fish
The spittle of a bird

 

Gungnir:

  It was Odin's magical spear that always hits its mark and always kills. Gungnir means “Swaying one” it was made from Yggdrasils Sacred ash. Odin has written his magic runes, onto Gungnir.

 

Hofund:

  Hofund was the sword of the god Heimdall.

 

Hringhorni: Ring Horn

  Hringhorni was the longship of the god Balder.

 

Loeding:

  Loeding was the first of the three chains that the Fenrir wolf was bound to.

 

Laevateinn: Damage Twin

  Laevateinn was Loki’s magic sword.

 

Megingjord: Power Belt

  Megingjord was Thor’s magical belt, the belt Megingjord made him twice as strong.

 

Mjölnir:

  Thor's hammer was called Mjölnir. Mjölnir was one of the most fearsome weapons, capable of leveling mountains. Thor's hammer could hit any target. After the target was hit, the hammer returned to Thor's right hand all by itself. The hammer could send out lightning bolts. The hammer Mjölnir could be used to kill and destroy, but also revive people or animals. Thor's hammer could also be magically shrunken to fit inside Thor’s shirt. The hammer Mjölnir was also used in sacred ceremonies; it could be ceremonies about birth but also death. Thor's hammer was forged by Brokkr and Eitri. The Hammer Mjölnir was once stolen by the Jotun Trym, and the price for getting it back was the hand of the fertility goddess Freya.

 

Odrorir:

  Odrorir was one of the three cauldrons that the dwarfs used to store the mead of poetry.

 

Runes:

  The runes were ancient letters used in the ealiest alphabets of the Norse.

 

Skidbladnir:

  Skidbladnir was a magic ship that belonged to the gods, made by the dwarfs. Skidbladnir could hold all the gods and their equipment, but yet Skidbladnir could also be folded small enough to be put in the pocket. The ship Skidbladnir was able to sail on the water, in the air, and also over land.

 

Svalin:

  Svalin was a shield that protected Sol in the chariot from the sun.
